Silly and Missy

Silly and Missy are a very special bonded pair.  Silly is blind, and he is very attached to Missy.  She is kind of like his very own seeing eye cat!  Both Silly and Missy are incredibly loving cats.  In the few days I spent with them, I pretty much fell head over heels.

Silly and Missy were surrendered to a local shelter when their owner became too ill to care for them.  Several months passed, and the pair did not get any adoption inquiries.  Despite their great dispositions, these two had some hurdles to overcome on their road to adoption.  They needed just the right family who would be willing to adopt two adult cats with long hair, one of whom is blind.

As months went by with no adoption prospects, Silly and Missy’s future became uncertain.  A caring volunteer contacted BCR, and arrangements were made for both cats to make their way to one of our foster homes.

Right around this time, we became acquainted with Carol and Chris who were excited to add a new family member (or two!) to their home.  Silly and Missy charmed them immediately and spent a mere three days in foster care!  Both cats are settling in well with their new family.  Carol is keeping us posted:

I wanted to let you know that Silly and Missy are doing very well in our home! Silly is amazing–he figured out the stairs right away and really gets around! Missy is such a sweetie!

Because their stay with BCR was so brief, we don’t have many cute pictures to share.  Both kitties are so friendly that they wouldn’t stop rubbing against us long enough to get a clear shot.  Here are some examples of the blurry love fest!

Congratulations to Silly and Missy!  We hope to see some better photos in the future!
