Ned made a smooth transition between foster homes last night. He was a little distressed by the car ride, but quickly recovered and began exploring his new surroundings. He seemed to approve and immediately claimed a seat by the biggest window.
It’s been great seeing Ned transform in the time he’s been with us. He has gained weight, and his coat has become softer and shinier. His leg has healed beautifully, and the once raw wound is barely noticeable anymore. The fur has grown back, and he doesn’t favor it at all. We are still monitoring his gingivostomatitis. It does not seem to be causing him any pain- He eats, drinks and plays normally.
Ned will remain in foster care until January 31st. At that time, he will be fully vaccinated and put up for permanent adoption. We will be seeking a loving, indoor-only home for Ned with someone who will continue to monitor his gums and provide appropriate treatment if necessary.
