Rest In Peace, Macy.

Macy made a huge impact in her short time with us. She, along with her daughter Gellie, turned dog people into cat people and showed all of us that the scared, “unadoptable” cat huddled in the back of the cage at a shelter can be the most loving companion if given a chance.

If you’ve fostered for or adopted through Black Cat Rescue, you’ve likely had the pleasure of working with Jill. And if you’ve spent more than five minutes with Jill, you’ve heard about Macy. She had loads of kitty personality and kept her people laughing daily with her slightly michevious but all around adorable antics. Macy started out as a foster cat and despite her harrowing shelter experience, she truly blossomed in her new foster home. And once she adjusted, she stole Jill and Dana’s hearts and made her temporary foster home her family.

Jill and her husband Dana do so much for all of the cats here at Black Cat Rescue, and they did everything they possibly could for Macy. Please send some good thoughts to them and Gellie as they deal with this very sudden, heartbreaking loss.

Macy, you will be missed and remembered. And we will not stop taking a chance on the “unadoptables” in your name.
