New kitten alert! Hannelore

Hannelore arriving at the veterinarian’s office.

The newest black cat to cross our path is Hannelore! This tiny baby was found on her own in an abandoned building. A kind person was seeking help for her Wednesday morning by attempting to take her to a local shelter via MBTA bus. Our director Jen happened to be on the same bus. Jen immediately brought the abandoned kitten to the vet to get checked out. Luckily, she’s healthy!

Getting weighed!

0.64 pounds of fluffy fur and kitteny goodness.

Hannelore is 4 weeks old and very tiny! She is in a foster home receiving age-appropriate care and is eating very well. Jen reports that she’s very vocal and has a sweet little kitten voice! It’ll be no time at all before this little ball of black fur is up to all the usual kitten antics. Stay tuned, we’ll be sure to have more adorable Hannelore pictures to share in the near future!

Already curious and looking for affection!

  2. Ohhhh she’s gorgeous and thank heavens she’s been saved!!!!

Can’t wait to see more pics of this little sweetiepie.

  3. She’s so cute. I love the name! I applaud your mission. It’s amazing how much ignorance about black cats still exist in the 21st century. It’s great to see these happy stories.

  4. Is she up for adoption?

She is beautiful!! I have a little black feral male that I trapped about a week ago. Waiting on him to get big enough to be fixed. He is becoming more social but terrorizes the 3 bigger kittens I have him in the room with. I work with our local Humane Society and so glad to hear of someone who especially helps black kitties, I know how hard it is for them to get adopted!

  6. Is it legal to be so cute? 😉 I wonder how she ended up in the abandoned building but so glad a kind person found her. Tiny, black and very vocal is just like my little Tina was when I first met her. Now she’s not quite so tiny but still small, black and very vocal 🙂
