On Tuesday, September 9, Flatbread Company in Somerville, Massachusetts hosted a smashingly successful benefit night for Black Cat Rescue!
This was our second Flatbread benefit, read about our success in 2013 here! We are very happy to report that this year was bigger and better than last year!
From 5 p.m. to close, $1.75 from each small pizza ordered and $3.50 from each large pizza ordered was donated to Black Cat Rescue. In addition, Black Cat Rescue set up a table with BCR merchandise and information on how to help us save cats. We also sold raffle tickets for several amazing prizes donated from generous local businesses and individuals.
Supporters came from far and wide to eat pizza, celebrate the work of Black Cat Rescue, and share their own stories of black cats who have touched their lives. It even became an international event when a supporter from Ethiopia was in town and was able to stop by! By the end of the night we were running out of t-shirts, had a bunch of new contacts for foster care and adoptive homes, and we had all shared countless stories and photos of our furry bundles of love.
Our raffle prizes this year were amazing black cat-themed packages. Prizes were generously donated by the following businesses and individuals:
- Flatbread Company Somerville
- Somerville Theatre
- Laura Kandziolka Photography
- Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo
- JP Licks
- Dave’s Fresh Pasta
- Boston Chocolate Tours
- The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
- Be In Union Yoga
Thank you so much to everyone who donated and came out to support BCR! In merchandise sales alone we raised over $1000! All together, including pizza sales, Black Cat Rescue raised $1746.50 for our mission to save and re-home black cats in Massachusetts. We could not have done it without all the amazing community support we received, thank you very much!
