Happy Tails: Pink!

Black Cat Rescue is happy to announce that Pink has been adopted!

Congratulations to Pink! She has found her forever home.

Congratulations to Pink! She has found her forever home.

Pink came to Black Cat Rescue from a high-volume traditional shelter. She was surrendered to the shelter with 8 other cats, some friendly and some shy– Pink was the shyest. Pink was still uncomfortable in the shelter and waiting for her forever home after all the other cats in her group were adopted. The shelter reached out to Black Cat Rescue to help.

Pink entered a Black Cat Rescue foster home with Jess and she blossomed! A foster home was the perfect place for her– other cats to interact with and some dedicated attention brought Pink out of her shell. At first Pink was too shy to play with people, but a laser pointer, catnip, and patience won Pink over. Resident cats can also be instrumental in rehabilitating their fostered friends– in Pink’s case Storm was a valuable companion. They were side by side all the time!

Wenting contacted Black Cat Rescue to find a new companion. When she met Pink, it was love at first sight! Pink’s energy and playfulness won her over immediately and Pink was in her adoptive home in a flash! We are happy to report that Pink is content and settling into her new home– especially into the windows!

Happy Tail Tuesday: Apollo has been Adopted!

We are pleased to announce the adoption of Apollo (formerly Sunny)!

Congratulations to Apollo on finding his new forever home (and his awesome new name)!

Congratulations to Apollo on finding his new forever home (and his awesome new name)!

Apollo (formerly Sunny) came to BCR in May 2015 as a friendly 2 year old cat in search of a new home. When Apollo arrived in his foster home he was immediately curious and playful.

He settled quickly into his foster home with Kristen and Andrew where we learned that Apollo needed some work on his manners! When he became overexcited from petting or playing, Apollo tended to swat at his foster family. As he became more comfortable with his surroundings and his foster family, he mellowed out and his manners improved. Apollo also got along fine with Kristen’s cats after his week of isolation, turns out he’s a really friendly guy.

Chisato contacted Black Cat Rescue to find a new companion for herself and her husband. She has never had a cat of her own before, but a soft spot for strays and a streak of patience has served her well while caring for dogs, rabbits, birds, and other furry creatures in the past. In the distant future, Chisato and her family may adopt a dog, so she wanted a friendly, confident cat that might be up for company one day.

Susanna, the BCR Adoption Coordinator, thought Apollo would make a good match because he’s so friendly and playful. When Chisato met Apollo in his foster home they really hit it off and she decided to adopt him almost immediately.

Now Apollo is living the good life! He went to his new forever home in late June and has settled in very well! With a huge cat tree all to himself, new toys, and the dedicated affection of Chisato and her husband, we know Apollo will have a great life with his new forever family.

Apollo must absolutely love his new giant cat tree in his forever home.
